Welcome to Mike Waltemath's webpage.

GREETINGS! THANK YOU FOR
VISITING MY WEBSITE.
As you may know, this is not
my first effort to become your representative, your voice, in Jefferson City.
Two years ago, I lost the election by 289 votes. It was time to go in a
different direction, so in the last 2 years I have been working more on local
issues—one being the First Wind Farm in Missouri. This Wind Capital Group
venture has brought over $500,000 in new tax revenues to Gentry County—a county
that has fewer than 6000 residents. From that $500,000, almost $250,000 is
going to our school. Brand new money—no additional taxes to the patrons—money
that can be used to raise teacher salaries, build new facilities or make
improvements without new taxes or levies. In King City, needless to say we like
our wind. I have also been working in our Gentry County Progress Association.
We have sponsored job fairs, run surveys on public transportation due to high
fuel prices and facilitated new day care programs for our working parents.
I continue to believe that the
people of the Fifth District are not getting our fair share from the state. As
Missouri taxpayers, as equal citizens of this great state, we deserve better.
Our educational system, our roads, our healthcare, our economy, our ability to
work and earn enough to provide for our families, are all in dire need of
attention. With your help, we can start to address these challenges and move
toward improving the everyday lives of individuals in this state of ours.
Please look around on this site as I have tried to briefly address some of the
issues I believe are most pressing. I hope that you will take the time to
e-mail, write or call me with your ideas, concerns or comments. You and
I are in this together. I appreciate your time, your efforts and your support.
Sincerely,
Mike
